Millendon Whirlybird Installation and Replacement
Millendon 6056 sits about 23km north-east of the Perth CBD, in the City of Swan. Dave installs and replaces whirlybirds and solar roof vents throughout the suburb — fixed prices, no subcontractors, travel included.
At around 27km inland, Millendon gets the least benefit from the Fremantle Doctor of anywhere Dave works. Roof temperatures run higher and the wind is less dependable — the two conditions that most favour a powered solar vent over a turbine.
Millendon is largely larger blocks with steeper, more complex roofs. Larger blocks up here mean larger, steeper roofs and considerably more cavity volume to move. Tree cover is the wildcard — welcome shade on one hand, a serious reduction in wind exposure on the other.
Debris is the maintenance issue nobody mentions. Leaves and bark collect around roof penetrations, trap moisture against the flashing and shorten the life of the whole installation, so units go where the canopy is not.
Most homes in Millendon need 4 whirlybirds, which comes to $1,250 supplied and installed. Bigger blocks mean bigger roof cavities, and the tree cover decides where the units can go.
- No call-out fee anywhere in Millendon

Far inland — light, late breeze
Whirlybirds or Solar Vents in Millendon?
Solar, in most cases. Millendon sits far enough inland that wind is the least reliable thing you could power a roof vent with, and hot still afternoons are the norm rather than the exception through summer.
A solar unit sidesteps the problem entirely — it runs on the thing Millendon has in abundance. From $750 installed, no wiring, no electrician, and no running cost, and it is working hardest at the hottest point of the day.
If the budget only stretches to turbines, they are still better than an unventilated roof — but you should go in knowing they will be doing less here than the same units would in Scarborough. Dave would rather tell you that upfront than have you disappointed in February.

FAQ
Whirlybird Installation Millendon — Common Questions
From $350 for a single unit supplied and installed. Two units are $650, three are $950, and each unit after that adds $300. Travel to Millendon 6056 is included and there is no call-out fee.
Bigger cavities usually mean three to five units, and placement matters more than raw count. The general rule is one 300mm unit per 50–60m² of ceiling area, adjusted for pitch and how much intake venting the eaves provide. Dave works out the exact number from your details before quoting.
Same-week bookings are usually available in Millendon. Send an enquiry through the form and Dave will confirm the next slot along with a fixed price.
Yes. Millendon is roughly 23km north-east of the CBD, comfortably inside the area Dave covers, and travel is included in the quoted price — a quote in Millendon costs the same as one anywhere else in the metro.
Not if it is flashed properly. The flashing keeps water out, not the sealant — a unit bedded in silicone will eventually let go. Dave fits new flashing suited to your roof type on every install, which is the difference between a dry ceiling and a callback.
Yes, along with tile. Metal roofs use a purpose-made soaker or flashing fitted under the upper sheet and over the lower one, with matching screws and neoprene washers. On low-pitch Colorbond, placement high on the slope and clear of ridge caps matters more than it does on tile.
