Whirlybird Installation in Sinagra, Perth
Dave works right across Sinagra and the wider City of Wanneroo. The suburb sits about 24km north of the Perth CBD — close enough that travel is always included in the quoted price, same as everywhere else in the metro.
At about 8km inland, Sinagra feels the Fremantle Doctor as a late-afternoon easing rather than an early-afternoon change. That matters: your roof peaks before the breeze gets here, which is exactly the gap a solar vent fills.
Drive around Sinagra and you are mostly looking at newer estate housing, a lot of it Colorbond. The newer builds around here share a common problem. Colorbond in a dark colour runs considerably hotter than light tile, and contemporary designs give you a wide roof over a compact block with minimal eave overhang.
With little or no intake venting designed in, bolting extraction to the roof only gets you so far. This is the housing type where adding eave vents makes the biggest single difference.
Most homes in Sinagra need 4 whirlybirds, which comes to $1,250 supplied and installed. Dark Colorbond over a wide footprint is about the hottest combination going in Perth.

Inland — late afternoon breeze
Why Solar Vents Often Win in Sinagra
This is where the advice changes. In Sinagra the sea breeze arrives late enough that wind-driven turbines miss the worst of the heat — your roof cavity peaks in the early afternoon, and the Doctor often does not turn up until after that.
A solar vent runs on sunlight instead, so it is at full output precisely when the roof is hottest. One unit at $750 typically moves more air than three turbines at $950, and it does not care whether the wind is blowing.
That said, plenty of Sinagra homes do perfectly well on whirlybirds alone — particularly smaller single-storey places with well-vented eaves. A common middle path here is one solar vent doing the heavy lifting plus a couple of turbines contributing whenever the breeze is up. Dave will tell you which of the three makes sense for your roof rather than defaulting to the dearest option.

FAQ
Whirlybird Installation Sinagra — Common Questions
From $350 for a single unit supplied and installed. Two units are $650, three are $950, and each unit after that adds $300. Travel to Sinagra 6065 is included and there is no call-out fee.
Wide footprints and dark roofs push these homes toward four-plus units, or one to two solar vents. The general rule is one 300mm unit per 50–60m² of ceiling area, adjusted for pitch and how much intake venting the eaves provide. Dave works out the exact number from your details before quoting.
Yes. Sinagra is roughly 24km north of the CBD, comfortably inside the area Dave covers, and travel is included in the quoted price — a quote in Sinagra costs the same as one anywhere else in the metro.
Not if it is flashed properly. The flashing keeps water out, not the sealant — a unit bedded in silicone will eventually let go. Dave fits new flashing suited to your roof type on every install, which is the difference between a dry ceiling and a callback.
Yes, along with tile. Metal roofs use a purpose-made soaker or flashing fitted under the upper sheet and over the lower one, with matching screws and neoprene washers. On low-pitch Colorbond, placement high on the slope and clear of ridge caps matters more than it does on tile.
The unit, correct flashing for your roof type, cutting and fitting, removal and disposal of any old unit, full clean-up including metal swarf off the roof and out of the gutters, and travel to Sinagra. Nothing gets added afterwards.
